After very inspiring lectures by Dr. Nor Hafizah Hj. Mohamed Harith within the course “Public Policy” and Dr. Aide Abdullah within the course “Ethics in Administration”, from the Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies, University of Teknologi MARA from Malaysia, for the students of the Faculty of Administration, University of Sarajevo, and lectures by Dr. Amel Delić within the course “Contemporary Public Administration”, which were held for students of the partner Malaysian University on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, the activities within this academic exchange continued the next day.
First, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, Prof. Dato Dr. Nasrudin Mohammed gave a lecture on the topic “Contemporary Public Administration: Issues and Challenges”. The lecture presented the historical and current perspective of the political system of Malaysia, as well as issues of traditional public administration, and two models of modern understanding and functioning of administration (New Public Management and New Public Governance). Throughout the lecture, crucial issues and challenges regarding the contemporary public administration in Malaysia, ASEAN countries and Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented and discussed.
Later, the same day, a lecture on the topic ‘’Financial Statement Analysis – Ratio Analysis’’ within the academic course “Analysis of Financial Statements” was given by the Deputy Dean of the partner faculty, Dr. Hjh Memiyanty Hj Abdul Rahim. The focus of the lecture was on: learning objectives and outcomes with ratio analysis, financial management framework, the need for financial statement analysis and its key measures, and the analysis of case studies that refer to trend analysis, cross-sectional analysis and other forms of ration analysis.
A very successful series of guest lectures within this academic exchange will be concluded by Dr. Emir Tahirović, who will give a lecture in the afternoon to Malaysian students on the topic “Implementation of public policies”.
